| CIO Mentoring Program |
|
The CIO Institute of Australia provides a mentoring program to match developing CIOs with more experienced senior professionals for general support, issue and career advice. This is intended as an addition to (not a replacement for) the personal and professional support services available in the market. The Mentoring program is a volunteer program and will be limited by the number of senior practitioners willing to participate, and a reasonable expectation of the limited amount of time these people are able to commit to such a relationship. This program is designed to address the problem that CIOs have few places to turn when they need to discuss sensitive and personal development issues. It is intended to ease the path for those who aspire to develop as senior executives and leaders. This program provides an opportunity for senior practitioners to contribute back to the growth of the profession in a very direct and personal manner. Candidates for receiving mentoring assistance, and more experienced volunteer practitioners will be matched from amongst the membership of the Institute based on the skills, knowledge, and experience of the participants but much will need to be left to the personalities and chemistry of the individuals involved. |
