The terms “Membership” and “Member” (in their singular or plural forms) apply to the Institute’s Associate Members, Certified Members and Certified Fellows. The term “the Institute” applies to the International CIO Institute, and the CIO Institute of Australia. Terms and Conditions of MembershipAccess to the website and other membership privileges implies acceptance of these membership terms and conditions. These terms and conditions may be updated from time to time and will apply from the date of publication on the web site.Membership and SubscriptionsMember privileges will be dependent on payment of the applicable membership subscriptions as may be due from time to time.Members who have not paid their subscriptions (renewals) lose all access to membership benefits including the right to use materials sourced from the Institute and its web site, and the right to use the Institute’s Accreditations (MICIOI and FICIOI). Memberships and Certifications reside with the individual, not the organisation. A full refund, less the non-refundable Application Processing Fee, can be claimed if your Membership is cancelled within 30 days of payment. Membership may be cancelled by Members at any time beyond this date and Members understand that no refund of subscriptions will be given. Membership, access and privileges may be withdrawn from Members who break these terms and conditions or breach the Institute’s Professional Code of Practice . CertificationOnly current paid members who have been granted the Institute’s Certified Member or Certified Fellow accreditations according to the appropriate processes of the Institute may call themselves Members of the Institute or Fellows of the Institute, or use the Institute’s appropriate MICIOI and FICIOI Accreditations.Associate Members may only indicate that they are “Associate Members of the Institute”. Retention of Certification requires a commitment to undertake appropriate Continuing Professional Development as outlined in the Institute’s Policy. The Institute awards its professional accreditations at its complete discretion according to the processes and disciplines it sets from time to time. The Institute accepts no liability to any person or organisation for its assessment of, or inability to assess, the capability of an individual member, and its decision in relation to awarding of (or withholding) Admission to the Institute and/or the awarding of (or withholding) the Institute’s Certifications. Privacy and ConfidentialityMembers undertake to respect the privacy of information on the website or exchanged in the Institute’s meetings, seminars, workshops and social events.Members undertake not to misuse, make available to third parties, or use for mailing lists or other commercial purposes, any Members' contact details which may be made available (eg: to enable networking and sharing of information between members). Members undertake not to misuse, make available to third parties, or use in any way, Members' opinions, questions or communications which may be made available (eg: within online forums, workshops, etc). Members undertake that all information they provide for publication on the Institute’s web site is free from copyright, confidentiality or other restrictions that would prevent its publication on our website. Copyright and Intellectual PropertyThe International CIO Institute and the CIO Institute of Australia (“the Institute”) support and encourage the dissemination and exchange of information. However, copyright protects material on this Internet site. The Institute asserts the right to be recognised as the author of material on this site, and that right extends even if the material is altered. Such recognition must include the Institute’s name (CIO Institute of Australia) and web address (www.cioinstitute.com.au ).Materials are made available purely for the benefit of Members for use within their own organisations during their period of membership and copied or transmitted to other members of their own organisation only, provided that the copyright restrictions are clearly shown and these restrictions are observed by all recipients.
