Application Review Process

Initial application process.

Applications for membership of the CIO Institute of Australia are processed in accordance with the International CIO Institute admissions policy.

On receipt of completed Application for Admission form and payment, applicants are granted a provisional Associate Membership of the Institute.

This allows the applicant immediate access to the Institute's professional development events and other services.

Applications are initially processed by the Institute's administrative staff, and brought before the next sitting of the Admissions and Certifications Committee for review in line with the International CIO Institute's admission policy. Applicants will be granted Associate Membership as appropriate to their experience and professional standing.
Applicants who are deemed not to meet the minimum Associate Membership standards of the Institute will be notified by mail, and will have their Membership fees refunded less the relevant Application Processing Fee .

Membership Upgrade (to Member or Fellow status) Application process.

Applications for upgrading to Certified Member status or Certified Fellow status are processed in accordance with the International CIO Institute certifications policy.

Completed "Application for Membership Upgrade" forms  are initially processed by the Institute's administrative staff, and brought before the next sitting of the Admissions and Certifications Committee for review in line with the International CIO Institute's certifications policy.

Applicants will be granted upgrades to their membership as appropriate to their experience and professional standing.

Approved applicants will be notified by mail and will be able to make use of the Institute's MICIOI or FICIOI certification in line with the certifications conditions of use.

Applicants who fail to achieve the Certified Member or Certified Fellow status they sought, either through lack of experience or through not having appropriately completed the necessary full admissions form will be able to re-apply to upgrade their membership at any time.
