| Certified Training Program |
|
A formal program of executive development training modules is being developed to provide an educational underpinning to the long term operation of the Institute’s certification program. As with many other professions who have chosen to set minimum professional standards, it will take some time before the standards and educational basis of certification are matured. In the first years of operation, the Institute, through its Admissions and Certifications committee will operate “grandfather provisions” to recognise the professionalism and expertise of existing senior practitioners working in the Industry. Increasingly over time, the committee will enforce policy which will at first accelerate, and subsequently exclusively certify practitioners who have undertaken the relevant educational program. This will operate in line with the governance of various other respected professions and associations including CPA (certified practicing accountants), AICD (Australian Institute of Company Directors), RANZCP (Royal Australian and New Zealand college of psychiatrists), etc. Educational and Certification standards will be operated by the International CIO Institute, and will govern the policy administered by the CIO Institute of Australia in the local region. This will contribute towards the international recognition of the training, and the MICIOI and FICIOI certifications. The International CIO Institute is working with Australia’s leading providers of Postgraduate Business and Executive Management training on the development and delivery of a formal training curriculum customised to the specific needs of the successful CIO. These educational modules will provide the basis for the Institute’s Professional Certification program starting in 2008. |
