Vision
The CIO Institute is the Professional Organisation for Senior IT Executives.

The Institute's work is to achieve the following objectives for the CIO profession.

  • To establish a professional development curriculum of international standard
  • To provide an ongoing series of international standard professional development workshops
  • To set and maintain standards for admission to the Institute
  • To set and maintain standards for achieving the Institute's Membership and Fellowship certifications
  • To recognise leadership and excellence within the profession with the awarding of professional certifications
  • To provide training modules and certificate courses, using the best adult learning techniques
  • To regularly renovate and update the curriculum using the best of professional advice and input
  • To establish a curriculum for a CEO/Directors program with the aim of aligning the institute's professional development, training and certification programs with the directions and aspirations of business
  • To devise and conduct an annual conference
  • To provide a resource network forum of expertise, enquiry and achievement
  • To further the recognition, promotion and standing of the profession locally, nationally and internationally

This basic statement of aims is a platform for the development of the Institute's mission and vision statements. These are scheduled to be reviewed and authorised by the relevant committees and the Board of Governors by early 2008.
